Antoine Du Moulin, réviseur de textes : le moyen français au filtre d’un système graphique d’imprimerie en 1549

Antoine Du Moulin worked as a proofreader for the printer Jean de Tournes in Lyon from 1544 to 1551. At that time theories and debates about the reform of spelling were spreading, with Louis Meigret and Jacques Peletier ; the latter was also a collaborator of Jean de Tournes. Here we examine the (ortho)graphic revision adopted by Antoine Du Moulin in 1549, for his edition of Jean Lemaire’s book I of the Illustrations de Gaule et Singularitez de Troye, based on the first edition by Jean Baland (1511). It appears that Antoine Du Moulin adopted a system of his own, which differs from contemporary treatises on spelling.
