Dal passato al presente: una variante temporale dell'"Orlando furioso"

In the path that goes from the first "Furioso" of 1516 to the third and definitive "Furioso" of 1532, a corrective intervention that is very frequent in the field of the verbal tenses consists of the replacement of the past tense with the present tense. The paper investigates – from a linguistic, stylistic and textual point of view – what meanings and implications has this kind of correction, whose main reasons (which may sometimes interact) seem to be as follows: syntactic reason, grammatical reason and textual reason, wich is mostly related to the verbal aspect and the semantics of the characters action.

Nel percorso che va dal primo "Furioso" del 1516 al terzo e definitivo "Furioso" del 1532 un intervento correttorio molto frequente nell’àmbito dei tempi verbali è costituito dalla sostituzione del passato remoto con il presente. Il contributo indaga – dal punto vista linguistico, stilistico e testuale – quali significati e implicazioni abbia questo tipo di correzione, i cui moventi principali (che talora possono interagire) sembrano essere i seguenti: movente sintattico, movente grammaticale e, il più interessante, movente testuale, perlopiù legato all’aspetto del verbo e alla semantica dell’azione dei personaggi.
