This contribute presents the edition, with introduction and commentary both textual and musical, of the “Confessio beati Isidori”, a 34 hexameters poem, probably written in the VII-VIII century Spain, transmitted by the ms. Paris, B.n.F. lat. 8093 and provided with later neumes. The content is connected with the Afro-hispanic tradition of penitential and confessional poetry like the “De satisfactione poenitentiae” of Verecundus Iuncensis and the rythmical “Exhortatio poenitendi”.
