In our hands, circulating platelets in experimental conditions linked to atherogenesis, and in humans (familial hypercholesterolemia, insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, chronic obliterative arterial disease) present increase og the Opening of the Suface Connected canalicular System, that, after in vitro tests, appear as aspect of platelet activation. Prostacyclin and 8-chlorocarbochromen (but not acetylsalicylic acid) are able to inhibit the process, in in vitro tests as well as in vivo (in experimental conditions and in the patient)
