The phenomenon of people trafficking, and especially of trafficking aimed at sexually exploiting the victims, is acknowledged as a criminal phenomenon now strictly connected to various areas and fields such as migration, prostitution, moonlighting and black economy, as well as to the condition of women and of underage people. This phenomenon is undergoing a persistent transformation due to the effects of the international financial imbalance between countries and globalization processes, criminal networks, exploitation forms and contexts, depending on the affected countries, both in terms of places of origin and of destination of the victims. This has become a crucial concern together with issues such as migrant prostitution, begging, pseudo-slavery, illegal economies endangering human rights, both in terms of seriousness of the exploiting levels detected in the investigative and judicial phases, as well as of their extent
