This work is an important experience to reach the definition of a standard procedure concerning the determination of asbestos content in serpentinitic rocks. We have developed a geostatistic methodology to estimation the asbestos content and to compute the "Indice di Rilascio" (I.R.) wich expresses the ability of a rock to release fibers through self grinding.
