In this paper a specific method of interpreting arguments is developed and justified. The aim of this method is to transform given arguments, crude as they are, into some sort of idealized version, which then has to be assessed with respect to its argumentative validity and adequacy on the basis of precise criteria provided by the Practical Theory of Argumentation. The general guidelines for an interpretation with this aim are justified and elaborated up to the level of detailed procedural rules, which can be used even in classroom for analyzing usual scientific arguments.

Abstract
In this paper a specific method of interpreting arguments is developed and justified. The aim of this method is to transform given arguments, crude as they are, into some sort of idealized version, which then has to be assessed with respect to its argumentative validity and adequacy on the basis of precise criteria provided by the Practical Theory of Argumentation. The general guidelines for an interpretation with this aim are justified and elaborated up to the level of detailed procedural rules, which can be used even in classroom for analyzing usual scientific arguments.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
