The aim of the trial was to develop a repeatable in vitro rabbit sperm model suitable for evaluate some aspects of metal toxicity in the validation of in vitro toxicity test. In particular two main tasks have been analysed: selection of rabbit sperm model and standardisation of semen protocol. In conclusion, the rabbit sperm model can be suitably standardised reducing the effect of several factor of confusion and greatly enhancing the discriminating power of the in vivo model. By this way the sperm model reaches precision and discriminative power.

Abstract

The aim of the trial was to develop a repeatable in vitro rabbit sperm model suitable for evaluate some aspects of metal toxicity in the validation of in vitro toxicity test.
