This paper considers the current mode CMOScircuit implementation of the Sawtooth Piecewise Linear chaoticmap. Starting from circuit analysis, we discuss a theoreticalmodel to investigate the effects on the dynamical system entropycaused by the map shape nonlinear distortion, introduced bythe circuit implementation. The results offer the designeraninvestigation tool to properly manage some relevant trade-offsrelated to the CMOS circuit design, highlighting the most criticalmodel parameters affecting the deterioration of the achievablesystem entropy.
