Design, synthesis and characterization of new polymeric materials for pharmaceutical and optoelectronic applications. Particular attention was given to the benzofulvene monomers that, through a mechanism of spontaneous polymerization, provide polymers with interesting properties, such as: thermoreverible polymerization/depolymerization behavior, high degree of π-staking, tendency to generate nanostructured macromolecular aggregates, significant level of biocompatibility, high solubility in the most common organic solvents, predisposition towards molecular manipulation.

Abstract
Design, synthesis and characterization of new polymeric materials for pharmaceutical and optoelectronic applications. Particular attention was given to the benzofulvene monomers that, through a mechanism of spontaneous polymerization, provide polymers with interesting properties, such as: thermoreverible polymerization/depolymerization behavior, high degree of π-staking, tendency to generate nanostructured macromolecular aggregates, significant level of biocompatibility, high solubility in the most common organic solvents, predisposition towards molecular manipulation.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
