Some interesting aspects of the field distribution inside an ideal spherical cloak are investigated. The Poynting vector, the local differential propagation constant and the phase velocity distributions are calculated for a plane wave illumination. Then, the group and energy transport velocities are considered and it is shown that they are equal only if the permittivity and permeability dyadics have the same frequency dependence around the cloak frequency.

Abstract
Some interesting aspects of the field distribution inside an ideal spherical cloak are investigated. The Poynting vector, the local differential propagation constant and the phase velocity distributions are calculated for a plane wave illumination. Then, the group and energy transport velocities are considered and it is shown that they are equal only if the permittivity and permeability dyadics have the same frequency dependence around the cloak frequency.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
