Induktion

Apart from providing a scolarly overview over the problem of induction and the most important proposals of a solution to it, the article presents a new, pragmatic solution to the problem of induction. The main idea of this solution is to consider induction as a pragmatic problem of what to consider as the possible consequences of our actions. In this pragmatic perspective many of the logically possible continuations of the course of our world are irrelevant. After excluding these possible worlds, the induction is reframed as a rational decision under uncertainty.
