In this chapter we investigate the ways in which European identities are discursively constructed and represented through the medium of television news. We analyse selected news coverage of EU institutional events (drawn from the British, Italian and French TV partitions of the IntUne corpus), exploring some of the linguistic and discursive features of the reports, as well as aspects of their structure and visual production styles. In our analysis, we develop a central aspect of comparative research on broadcast news media between three of the participating ‘IntUne’ countries (France, Italy, and the UK) in order to show how TV audiences in each country are presented with different representations of being European, and of who, or what, Europe is.
