This volume, the result of research carried out by the University of Siena (2013-2025), reconstructs the appearance of Rusellae throughout its historical development. Through stratigraphic analysis and new three-dimensional reconstructions of buildings, this research has sought to overcome the fragmented nature of previous studies, revealing a city in constant transformation. From its Etruscan roots to its flourishing as a Roman colony, the monumental centre emerges as an architectural laboratory where imperial models and local craftsmanship generated unique solutions. The Forum, the heart of civic identity and a reflection the ambitions of the elite, is reinterpreted here not only as a physical space, but as a tangible expression of social, political and human dynamics that continued uninterrupted for over a millennium.

Abstract
This volume, the result of research carried out by the University of Siena (2013-2025), reconstructs the appearance of Rusellae throughout its historical development. Through stratigraphic analysis and new three-dimensional reconstructions of buildings, this research has sought to overcome the fragmented nature of previous studies, revealing a city in constant transformation. From its Etruscan roots to its flourishing as a Roman colony, the monumental centre emerges as an architectural laboratory where imperial models and local craftsmanship generated unique solutions. The Forum, the heart of civic identity and a reflection the ambitions of the elite, is reinterpreted here not only as a physical space, but as a tangible expression of social, political and human dynamics that continued uninterrupted for over a millennium.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
