This chapter aims to furnish the state of the art on rabbit male reproduction focusing on factors affecting semen quality (all fractions: spermatozoa-SPZ, prostatic secretory granules-PSGs, and seminal plasma-SP), as genetic, diet, and management practices, and on innovative procedures for sperm analysis (motility assay in 2D vs. 3D) and cryopreservation (dilution and storage medium). Furthermore, insights on the use of rabbit as an animal model for human infertility, toxicology, or metabolic studies have been also done. Finally, a special focus on common limits (in vitro studies) and future prospective (mathematical models that mimic complex metabolic pathways of live systems) in rabbit reproduction studies has been also considered. ©

Abstract
©I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
