The paper offers an example of intertextual analysis of the myth of Prometheus, included within Plato's "Protagoras," and Themistius' oration XXVII, where the same myth appears in a concise form with interesting reworkings that are to be related to the author's political ideology. The appendix examines other variations of the Protagoras'myth provided by Aelius Aristides, Himerius, and Julian.
