The authors describe for the first time at international level the Donor-Recipient CXL-assisted DALK (DRXL-DALK) technique using a preoperative circular donor-recipient cross-linking (CDR-CXL) as adjuvant treatment for DALK. This original technique prevents peripheral keratolysis and thinning with consequent wound displacement and secondary progressive irregular astigmatism. Other advantages are reported such as the facilitation of Type 2 Bubble formation and early removal of the sutures preventing early and late wound dehiscence.

Abstract
The authors describe for the first time at international level the Donor-Recipient CXL-assisted DALK (DRXL-DALK) technique using a preoperative circular donor-recipient cross-linking (CDR-CXL) as adjuvant treatment for DALK. This original technique prevents peripheral keratolysis and thinning with consequent wound displacement and secondary progressive irregular astigmatism. Other advantages are reported such as the facilitation of Type 2 Bubble formation and early removal of the sutures preventing early and late wound dehiscence.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
