Disturbi psichiatrici nella sindrome di Klinefelter

Klinefelter's syndrome is the most common form of aneuploidy and represents the most frequent cause of hypergonadotropic hypogonadism in men. From a genetic point of view, it is the result of the presence of supernumerary X chromosomes in a phenotypic male. The clinical phenotype includes gynecomastia, small testes and azoospermia. A variety of psychiatric diagnoses have been reported in association with Klinefelter's syndrome and it has been demonstrated that these patients are more at risk of developing psychiatric disorders than any other individual in the general population. We report the case of a patient with Klinefelter's syndrome who also presented psychiatric symptoms.
