Submerged Literature. Comparative and Anthropological perspectives

This book – the third and concluding volume of the series on "Submerged Literature" in ancient Greek culture – expands the approach presented in the previous volumes to include a comparative perspective. The case studies range from Qumran texts to Arabic-Islamic literature, from ancient Rome to Gnostic texts. With its rich source material and its particular emphasis on socio-anthropological themes and methods, the volume offers new insights also for comparative studies.
