Landscape archaeology shifted its main focus from settlements to the relationship between humans and the natural environment. Thus, new questions and new tools raise a new lively debate. Among the others, sustainability and resilience seem to be promising. Though linked always to present concerns about the fate of future generations, these topics can stimulate a new agenda to study how human communities exploited the available resources and how did they react to sudden and long term changes. This new perspective allows a closer link between past and future.

Abstract
Landscape archaeology shifted its main focus from settlements to the relationship between humans and the natural environment. Thus, new questions and new tools raise a new lively debate. Among the others, sustainability and resilience seem to be promising. Though linked always to present concerns about the fate of future generations, these topics can stimulate a new agenda to study how human communities exploited the available resources and how did they react to sudden and long term changes. This new perspective allows a closer link between past and future.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
