On the occasion of the celebration of the centennial of Hayek’s birth a number of critical contributions helped assessed Hayek’s thought. This review article concentrates mostly two wide-ranging intellectual biographies of Hayek: Alan Ebenstein's and Bruce Caldwell's. While most interpretative issues are probably definitely settled a few questions are still open, with specific regard to Hayek's role in the development of subjectivism. The review argues that Ebenstein's and Caldwell's recent efforts do not help in settling this issue.

Abstract
On the occasion of the celebration of the centennial of Hayek’s birth a number of critical contributions helped assessed Hayek’s thought. This review article concentrates mostly two wide-ranging intellectual biographies of Hayek: Alan Ebenstein's and Bruce Caldwell's. While most interpretative issues are probably definitely settled a few questions are still open, with specific regard to Hayek's role in the development of subjectivism. The review argues that Ebenstein's and Caldwell's recent efforts do not help in settling this issue.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
