On the survival of the judicial and penitential modalities of the "death of Carnival" in the anti-judaic plays of Folz the article discusses antijudaism and its representation in the carnival plays of Nuremberg. The carnival practices and cultural and social background are presented and illustrated. Relatated question such as antijudaism caused by millenarism and eschatology are also introduced. legal and religius instances , such as the transformation of the inquisizion prozess and Lutheranism are presented and discussed. The accusations of ritual murder and blood libel are viewed within this context and the ways in which they surfaced in the popular theatre is discussed in detail
