Melka Kunture (Ethiopia) represents an important prehistoric archaeological site. To protect and to safeguard this cultural heritage, advanced technologies such as the satellite photogrammetry and the web-GIS have been utilized. The use of IKONOS stereoscopic images allowed the creatioo of the new large scale topographic-archaeological map of Melka Kunture. The WebGIS act as an interactive museum, containing forty years of research and excavation data.
