The authors present a brief synthesis of the Hecynian orogenic revolution in Sardinia. This reconstruction is made by combining deductions concerning already well known data with current results obtained from the co-ordinate research being done by the "Study group Variscan Orogeny in Europe of Working Group 9" on the geological profile across southern Sardinia.
