Abstract

The article describes the process, the techniques and the methodologies derived from the music therapeutic approach by Benenzon (1998) of the Laboratory of Education to Listening hold for the students of the Master’s degree in Clinic and Community Psychology at the Department of Humanities at University of Naples Federico II, through the images that represent figuratively each meeting and workshop. The visual language, intersecting with the language of the narrative of teachers that carried out the Laboratory and the non-participant observer’s descriptive language, shall have the intent to highlight training proposals for an applied and practice pedagogy, emancipatory and social education within the university academia.Through the path of the educational Laboratory, the Authors will explore the connection and the bond existing between creativity and limits in arts and in the relationship educator-learner. The sound, the body, the movement are intertwined in the play of the educational practice of the flourishing focused on the psychological well-being, on forms of significant learning and on the development of positive relational and soft-skills in an emancipatory perspective. The intersection of visual languages, iconic, literary article tells figuratively the intersection of body language, mime, gesture, presentational knowing (Heron, 1996), conceptual and theoretical modeling, highlighting those points where through experiential dimension participants experience embodied knowledge, the unsaid and non-speakable of the social contexts is “acted” and finds its form of representativeness and communicability in laboratory experiments. The music therapy techniques used are not only the medium of education for the meeting with the other, but they are part of the laboratory device in which institutional conditions to facilitate emancipatory learning and development of critical thinking and metacognitive processes are created upon themselves, upon the relationship between self and others, and on belonging to social contexts at all levels.
